Curtis Gillespie won the Henry Kreisel Award and the inaugural Danuta Gleed Literary Prize for The Progress of an Object in Motion, and was a finalist for the Grant MacEwan Prize for Playing Through. His magazine writing on politics, sports, travel, science and the arts has earned him three National Magazine Awards from twelve nominations. He lives in Edmonton with his wife and their two daughters.
